Per-student expiry and reminders
Each certificate expires a set time after the student completes the course, with automatic reminder emails that you can edit.
Certificate Expiry and Certificate Renewal together: expiring certificates plus self-service recertification, one licence key.
Both LearnDash certificate add-ons in one purchase, for less than buying them separately. Certificate Expiry gives each student's certificate its own expiry date, reminders and a public verification page. Certificate Renewal lets students renew it themselves. One licence key activates both on the same site.
Each certificate expires a set time after the student completes the course, with automatic reminder emails that you can edit.
Students renew by retaking a short quiz, following a signed renewal link, or paying for a renewal product.
Every certificate gets a verification page and a QR code that employers can check.
One licence key activates and updates both Certificate Expiry and Certificate Renewal on your site.
LearnDash certificates don’t expire. Once a student finishes a course, the certificate is valid forever, which is a real problem for training that has to be renewed: first aid, food hygiene, safety inductions, CPD. Most training sites we looked at track it in a spreadsheet, with calendar reminders and emails sent one by one.
Adding expiry dates solves half of it. The reminder then prompts the obvious question, “how do I renew?”, and without an answer in the email it becomes a support ticket that someone on your team answers by hand. The two add-ons in this bundle cover both halves.
Expiry creates the job that Renewal finishes. Once certificates expire, students need a way to renew without emailing you. With both installed, the reminder a student gets 60 days before expiry carries a signed link that takes them straight to their renewal: the course, a short recertification quiz, or checkout.
Everything listed under “What it doesn’t do” on the two product pages applies here too. The main ones: expiry works at course level only, the QR code needs one shortcode in your certificate template, and paid renewals need the student to be logged in at checkout.
### License & updates
* Multisite: one license covers the whole network, and each subsite running the plugin counts
as one site against the license's site limit (1, 3, 5, or unlimited). The license is stored
network-wide and only a network (super) admin can activate or deactivate it.
* Adding a subsite, or activating the plugin on one, takes an activation automatically; deactivating
the plugin on a subsite or deleting the subsite frees it again. Updates are only offered while
every subsite running the plugin is activated.
It runs alongside LearnDash and never changes its files, so you can keep updating LearnDash as usual.
