Licences, updates and moving to a new site

What a licence covers

• One add-on (or both certificate add-ons, for the bundle).
• The number of sites you chose at checkout, from one to unlimited. The product page lists the options. On a multisite network, each subsite running the add-on counts as one site.
• A year of updates and email support from the day you buy.

When the year ends, the add-on keeps working exactly as it did. You just stop getting updates and support until you renew.

Where to find your keys

Log in and open My Licences (Account in the site header). It lists each key with its product, status, expiry date and the sites it’s active on. Your receipt email has the key as well.

How updates arrive

With an active licence, new versions show up in Dashboard → Updates and on the Plugins screen, the same as any other plugin. WordPress checks on its own schedule; click Check again on Dashboard → Updates to look straight away.

Update downloads are only handed to sites where the licence is active, and each download link expires after 24 hours.

Moving to a new site

A key works on as many sites as you bought it for. If it’s already at that limit, free it on the old site before you use it on the new one. If it has a site to spare, skip step 1.

1. On the old site, open the add-on’s licence screen and click Deactivate. If the old site is already gone, remove it from the key in My Licences instead.
2. On the new site, paste the key and click Activate.

Staging copies: the add-on works on a staging site without a licence, because the licence only controls updates. Leave the key active on your live site and test updates on staging by installing the new ZIP from your account.

Deactivating versus deleting

Deactivating an add-on never removes its data. Deleting it from the Plugins screen runs its clean-up, which differs by add-on:
