Who writes these pages?

PluginSprout does. We are an independent developer of small WordPress plugins and add-ons, and our guides, docs and comparisons are published under the company name, not a personal byline. Every guide shows the date it was last updated.

How do we test what we write about?

We build the add-ons these pages cover and run them on our own test sites. The screenshots come from those sites, and so do the numbers we quote. For example, the figures in our guide to clearing card-testing orders come from a test store where we seeded 541 failed and pending orders, because we would rather show you what we saw than a made-up average.

When we describe what one of our add-ons does, we check it against the plugin’s code and its published documentation. We also say what it doesn’t do, and who shouldn’t buy it.

How do we check claims about other products?

Every claim about another plugin, service or vendor links to that vendor’s own page, and we note the date we checked it. When a guide covers someone else’s plugin, we rely on that vendor’s documentation and say so.

Comparison pages state when they were checked. In a table, “Not stated” means the vendor’s page doesn’t say, not that the feature is missing. We make our own add-ons, so we mark our row as ours and ask you to weigh it accordingly.

What do we never claim?

We don’t publish votes, ticket counts, testimonials, customer numbers or ratings, because we don’t invent them. We don’t call a product the best without a reason you can check, and we don’t promise results we haven’t measured.

How do we keep pages up to date?

When a release changes something a page describes, we update the page and its date. When a vendor’s page or price has changed since we last looked, we update the row and the date we checked it.

What is our commercial interest?

We sell our own add-ons, and that is the reason these pages exist. Where a page compares products, it says which one is ours.

What if you find a mistake?

Email support@pluginsprout.com with the page and what is wrong. We check it, correct the page and update its date.
